GC: How did the Deadly Ponies Team come together?
LIAM & KATIE: We started DP at Uni, which is where we first met.
GC: Does having a graphic design background provide both of you a different perspective in establishing your own brand?
LIAM & KATIE: I think having a graphic design background and no "fashion" background gives us a different set of skills. We tend to look at things with a graphic / sculptural perspective. As well as being able to do all our own graphics / website etc…….
GC: What does Deadly Ponies consider as the essential element when designing a product?
LIAM & KATIE: Both of us being happy with it.

GC: What’s your favourite item from this collection?
LIAM: Mr Doc in black
KATIE: Purple Stuff N Tye
GC: Tell us about Deadly Ponies’ creative process.
LIAM & KATIE: well we tend to look at pieces we have made before and just evolve them and stretch the ideas further, throwing new things into the pot which we want to try out, so it’s a definite evolution5.
GC: We notice Deadly Ponies’ focus in choosing quality materials and emphasize in good craftsmanship. Where is the production team based at? Do both of you still get to do hands on work during production?
LIAM & KATIE: Both of us design, pattern make, sample and make all production of the bags. So yes we are still very hands on and intend to always be. Its what keeps it interesting.
GC: What is the happiest moment in your fashion career so far?
LIAM: Walking past someone wearing our stuff.
KATIE: Are bags fashion. Having our bags considered fashion.
GC: Are there any designers’ work you admire very much?
LIAM: Because we make the pieces our selve it make me admire crafts men, making luggage and saddles rather than designers.
KATIE: Liam stole my answer. And also sculptures of any form, artists who are making art rather than an "item" for the sake of it.
GC: What time of the day do you enjoy the most? Why?
LIAM: Breakfast, lunch and dinner time, food.
KATIE: Morning, means I have a whole day ahead of me to fit in all the things we have to do.
GC: What do you consider is the best thing that happened in the last century?
LIAM: stumped

GC: What albums have you been listening to lately?
LIAM: If it is gangster, I’ll listen
KATIE: My ears are broken if its gangster
GC: Where do you think New Zealand Fashion is at in the International Fashion Scene?
LIAM & KATIE: I think regarding the International Fashion Scene only the big boys (country’s) can play. so with NZ fashion, we are just ticking along doing our own thing.
